Matthews, NC Double Rear

This Matthews ranch home was transformed with two thoughtfully designed rear additions connected by a covered deck, dramatically enhancing both functionality and indoor-outdoor living. One addition created a cozy sitting room just off the kitchen, while the other expanded the home with a spacious new owner’s suite complete with a luxurious bathroom and walk-in closet.

To further elevate the home, we removed the existing family room fireplace and replaced it with a stunning 12-foot-wide bi-parting sliding patio door. This feature opens directly onto the new patio and provides unobstructed views of the backyard and pool, seamlessly blending interior and exterior spaces.

The new owner’s bath offers a true spa-like retreat, featuring double shower heads and a freestanding soaking tub enclosed within custom shower glass for a striking, modern design. In addition to the additions, we renovated the hall bathroom, replaced all interior doors and trim, painted most of the interior, painted the entire brick exterior, and installed a new roof.

Outside, Trex stairs span the full length of the covered patio, each step illuminated with integrated lighting and leading gracefully down to the backyard pool area creating both a dramatic visual element and functional access to the outdoor living space.

The result is a beautifully reimagined home that maintains the charm of a ranch layout while delivering modern luxury, expanded living space, and enhanced connection to the outdoors.
